In the Flame of Russia’s Revolution

In the middle of May, twelve brothers and eight sisters… divided into four groups. With hearts burning with zeal to win souls for Christ… these young soldiers of the cross started on their journey… This was already the second year of the revolution in Russia, a time of imminent danger, extreme peril…The unrest was at its height when we started on our journey… We were literally as sheep in the midst of wolves, but (by the grace of God) not one missionary was afraid, neither did they for one moment consider leaving this hard field of labor.We were not however permitted to go on disturbed… A strange feeling of forboding settled upon our hearts… Our journey now seemed like an upward ascent to Golgotha… Hardships increased… There was a great longing in the hearts of several of our workers for that Home beyond the starry sky…This is a true gripping account of the work of a group of evangelists, dedicated to spreading the Gospel in the most difficult circumstances. Staring death and terror in the face on every side, they moved calmly and courageously forward.
