The Branded Oak is a tale of a mysterious looking oak tree found in the Texas wilderness by three teenage boys looking to establish a hog ranch.
The year was 1888, the place they wanted to live was a survey granted to one of the boys’ father for his services in the war between Mexico and Texas in 1836.
The area was sparsely populated and was still subject to raids by the dreaded Comanche and other lawless characters. Even more so because of the mysterious looking Branded Oak that was said to be haunted, and was believed by many to be the site of buried treasure.
Will the boys get involved in the mystery and treasure hunting or will they go about their business of hog raising and farming? What would we do?
